Terms
Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 October 2026. Version 21 October 2026, revision 4.
These terms apply if you use Registration Compare to compare registration specialists, request a proposal, or book a discovery call.
If you are a registration specialist, the specialist terms apply instead.
1. Who we are
Registration Compare is a trading name of State of Care Limited.
Registration Compare provides an independent research, comparison and introduction service for people looking for care registration specialists.
We are not CQC, CIW, the Care Inspectorate, RQIA or any other regulator, and we are not affiliated with them.

2. Independence
Registration Compare is independent of the delivery of registration support. We do not ourselves provide the registration service being compared.
Specialists pay Registration Compare under agreed commercial terms. Those fees do not influence which specialists are shortlisted on your proposal.
3. What Registration Compare does
Registration Compare operates a curated panel of assessed and verified registration specialists. The panel and the personalised shortlisting and proposal process are not an open directory where businesses can pay to appear or list themselves.
Registration Compare also publishes independent research about businesses operating in the wider registration consultancy market. Public research profiles may include businesses that are not participating specialists. These profiles are separate from the verified specialist panel and the personalised shortlisting and proposal process.
Depending on the specialist and the information available, this may include:
- services and scope
- pricing
- experience
- people behind the business
- reviews
- timescales
- registration results
- company information
- qualifications, memberships and insurance
- other information relevant to the registration service
When a customer tells us what they need, we use that information to identify and compare specialists that appear relevant to their requirements.
Customers will normally receive a proposal containing three shortlisted specialists.
In some circumstances we may be unable to identify three appropriate specialists. We will not add a specialist simply to make up the numbers.
4. How we research and verify information
We use a mixture of:
- public records
- regulator records
- Companies House information
- independent review platforms
- specialist websites and public profiles
- information and evidence supplied directly by specialists
- other sources we consider relevant
We distinguish, where reasonably possible, between information we have independently confirmed and information supplied or claimed by a specialist.
When we describe something as “verified”, that means we have checked the particular information or evidence concerned. It does not mean that Registration Compare certifies, accredits or guarantees the specialist as a whole.
Independently reviewing or verifying individual facts shown on a public research profile does not, by itself, mean that the business is a verified participating specialist on our panel or a commercial partner of Registration Compare.
Our checks are made at a particular point in time. Businesses, people, prices, reviews, registrations and other information can change after we check them.
4A. Public specialist profiles and advertising
Registration Compare may publish factual information, business profiles, market research and comparisons relating to registration consultancy businesses, whether or not those businesses participate in its specialist panel.
The purpose is to help customers understand the available market, research individual businesses and make informed decisions about registration support.
Registration Compare may promote its services through organic search, paid advertising and other marketing channels, including advertising shown in response to searches for particular registration consultancy businesses.
Such advertising promotes Registration Compare's independent research and comparison services. It does not imply endorsement, authorisation, partnership or commercial participation by a named business unless such a relationship actually exists.
Information about participating specialists and other researched businesses will be distinguished appropriately. Public profiles may be corrected or updated where materially inaccurate information is identified.
5. Registration results and experience
Registration outcomes require context.
Where possible, we consider the type of registration, the specialist's involvement, previous attempts, available evidence and the confirmed outcome.
The existence of a service on a regulator's register does not by itself prove who prepared or supported the application.
Registration is also affected by matters outside a specialist's control, including the applicant, the quality and completeness of information supplied, regulator scrutiny, requests for further information and regulator timescales.
We therefore do not guarantee that any specialist will achieve a particular registration outcome or timescale.
6. What a shortlist means
A shortlist is intended to help you compare relevant specialists.
It is not:
- a guarantee of quality
- an accreditation
- a guarantee of registration
- a guarantee that a specialist is suitable for every applicant
- legal, regulatory or financial advice
We consider the information available to us and the requirements you provide.
You remain responsible for deciding whether to speak to, appoint or contract with a specialist.
7. Information you give us
If you request a proposal or otherwise provide information to Registration Compare, you must take reasonable care to ensure it is accurate.
Our comparison may depend on information such as:
- the service you intend to register
- your location
- the relevant regulator
- your stage in the registration process
- the support you require
- Registered Manager arrangements
- other information relevant to your application
If this information is incomplete or inaccurate, the specialists identified may be less relevant to your circumstances.
8. Your proposal
A Registration Compare proposal is prepared for the person or business that requested it.
It may contain information collected from several different sources and information supplied directly by specialists.
Prices, availability, services and other commercial information may change.
You may choose which, if any, of the specialists presented in your proposal you wish to speak with. You are not obliged to contact every specialist shown.
You should confirm important contractual information directly with the specialist before appointing them.
9. Speaking to or appointing a specialist
Registration Compare may enable you to book a discovery call with one or more of the specialists on your proposal.
You book a time. You are not asked to connect your own calendar or to give us access to your email. Where the specialist has connected a calendar, we place the discovery call on it, including your name and email address, and we keep our own record of the booking. Our Privacy Policy explains that information.
Once you choose to speak to a specialist, the specialist is responsible for their own advice, representations, services and commercial terms.
If you miss a booked discovery call, Registration Compare may contact you to help rearrange it. That follow-up is intended to be helpful, not punitive. We may also send one optional private question about whether the call took place. You do not have to answer, and an answer is not published as a review.
If you appoint them, any contract for registration support is between you and that specialist.
Registration Compare is not a party to that contract.
You should review the specialist's own:
- scope of work
- price
- payment terms
- cancellation terms
- refund terms
- guarantees, if any
- timescales
- terms and conditions
before agreeing to proceed.
10. Registration outcomes and reviews
Registration outcomes and reviews are collected on separate forms. The outcome form records timescales and whether registration was achieved. The review form records your experience of the registration specialist.
Where Registration Compare introduces you to a specialist, we may contact you during or after the engagement to understand progress and outcome. Specialists participating in Registration Compare agree to provide that outcome information under their Specialist Participation Agreement, including unsuccessful or returned cases.
We may:
- ask you to confirm milestone dates and the eventual registration outcome
- ask for reasonable evidence to verify an outcome or a review
- invite you to review the registration specialist
We may use factual outcome information for verification, service improvement, analysis and aggregated or anonymised reporting, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You are not required to give a review. Continued use of Registration Compare is not conditional on leaving a review. A review may be positive or negative. The review score is the average of the experience ratings you give. Registration success is recorded next to that score. It does not invent the number.
Reviews may be checked before publication. Registration Compare may decline to publish content that cannot be sufficiently verified, is unlawful, abusive, irrelevant or otherwise breaches our review rules. We do not exclude a review simply because it is negative.
Individual case information is not published as a public case file simply because it has been supplied. Reviews are not published automatically.
11. What customers pay
Registration Compare is free for customers to use.
We do not charge customers for:
- submitting their requirements
- our assessment
- the comparison
- the proposal
- the introduction to a specialist
If you appoint a specialist, you agree their fees directly with them.
12. How Registration Compare is paid
Registration Compare is free for customers. Specialists pay Registration Compare under their commercial arrangement. The fee is requested when the scheduled call is due to finish, unless it was cancelled or rescheduled. No referral fee is payable for a customer no-show.
That fee does not determine who is shortlisted.
Registration Compare does not add that fee as a separate charge to the customer.
Specialists remain responsible for setting their own prices.
13. Example profiles
The website may contain fictional or illustrative specialist profiles designed to show how Registration Compare presents information.
These will be identified as examples.
Example businesses, prices, people, results and other information should not be treated as information about a real specialist.
14. Reviews and third-party ratings
Where we show ratings or reviews from platforms such as Google, Trustpilot, Reviews.io or Facebook, we normally show each source separately.
We do not create a combined Registration Compare review score from separate platforms.
Ratings and review counts can change after the date we check them.
The reviews themselves are created and controlled by the relevant third-party platform and its users, not by Registration Compare.
15. Third-party websites
Registration Compare contains links to specialist websites, Companies House, LinkedIn, review platforms and other external websites.
We provide these links to help users review the underlying information or learn more.
We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their availability, security, content or privacy practices.
16. Use of the website
You may use the website for lawful purposes connected with researching or comparing registration support.
You must not:
- misuse the website or attempt to interfere with its operation
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to private specialist links or accounts
- scrape or systematically extract our researched specialist data without permission
- reproduce our proposals, research or specialist files commercially without permission
- provide false information or impersonate another person or business
- use the service for unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purposes
17. Our content and intellectual property
The Registration Compare name, website design, written content, comparison structure, research presentation and original materials belong to us or are used with permission.
Third-party names, logos, screenshots, review-platform marks and specialist material remain the property of their respective owners.
You may use information supplied to you for your own decision-making.
You may not reproduce, republish, sell or commercially exploit substantial parts of our website, specialist files, comparisons or research without our written permission.
18. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Registration Compare available and its information current, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may:
- update the website
- correct information
- change the way comparisons are presented
- remove or suspend specialist profiles
- change or withdraw parts of the service
where reasonably necessary.
We may also update these terms. The current version and revision date will always be published on this page.
19. Our responsibility
We take reasonable care in carrying out our research and presenting the information we have checked.
However, we cannot guarantee that every third-party record, specialist statement, review, price or other piece of information will always be complete, current or error-free.
We are not responsible for the acts, omissions or services of an independent registration specialist simply because that specialist appears on Registration Compare.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
These terms do not affect any legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
20. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information.
Our Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the website.
Those documents form part of the information governing your use of Registration Compare but deal specifically with privacy and tracking rather than the commercial operation of the service.
21. Questions, complaints and corrections
If you:
- have a question about Registration Compare
- believe information on a specialist profile is incorrect
- want to raise a concern about the service
- want to complain about how Registration Compare has handled something
contact: hello@registrationcompare.uk
If your complaint concerns work carried out by a registration specialist, you should normally raise it with that specialist under their own complaints process.
We may still want to know about the issue because it may be relevant to our specialist research and panel decisions.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If the law gives you mandatory rights in another part of the United Kingdom, these terms do not remove those rights.
Nothing in these terms prevents a person from bringing proceedings in a court available to them under applicable law.
